Rebecca Nimmer joined the St. Norbert faculty in the fall of 2010 as an adjunct instructor in music. In addition to teaching general music methods courses at St. Norbert College, Rebecca is an elementary general music teacher in the public school system. She has over fourteen years of experience as both a general music teacher and an instrumental music teacher in both public and private school settings. She holds teaching certifications in general, instrumental, and choral music. During her teaching career, she has worked extensively with practicum students and student teachers.
While at Northwestern University, Rebecca studied under Dr. Peter Webster and Dr. Maud Hickey, and completed a master’s degree in music with an emphasis in general music education.
She is an active member of the PBIS committee at her school, in addition to working on developing curriculum and assessments in the area of general music. Rebecca is a member of the Wisconsin Music Education Association and the National Association for Music Education, and plays horn in the St. Norbert College Community Band.
