International business and language area studies

Become fluent in the language of international business

Conducting business across international borders requires specialized skills to navigate cultural and communication differences. At St. Norbert College, our international business program combines the study of business with the study of language, allowing you to gain a deeper understanding of both business and culture.

Academic paths within the major

SNC will prepare you to lead a globally focused professional life as you earn your Bachelor of Business Administration degree in international business and language area studies (IBLAS). As part of the program, you’ll choose a single language for intensive study, before spending at least a semester studying abroad in a country where that language is spoken.

Elevate your international business and language education

Don’t wait for your diploma to make your mark on the world of business! Our IBLAS students operate Discoveries International, a nonprofit organization committed to importing and selling products from developing countries. Each year, charities are chosen, and any profits made are reinvested through donations.

Your participation in the Discoveries International organization, combined with academic excellence, can earn you a scholarship for your junior or senior year. What's more, IBLAS students have secured internships with prestigious organizations like the British Parliament, Church Mutual Insurance Company, and Doctors Without Borders.

  • I studied abroad in Quito, Ecuador. I definitely think [that was a valuable experience for me] because you can use that culture and that experience to reaffirm yourself. ... I can then give all of my learned experience to my students, which is basically what teaching is. You are sharing your experience just in a way that they can digest.
