Phil Oswald began his service to St. Norbert College in September, 2008. In this role, he leads the development, alumni and parent relations, and advancement services teams.

Previously, Phil served at the University of Texas at Austin as Associate Vice President for Development. The strengthening of relationships between central development and constituent units and the implementation of professional benchmarks and best practices marked Phil’s tenure at UT. Phil was also a leader in the preparation for a comprehensive campaign and its promise of increased gift production and a culture of philanthropy.

Phil has also served the University of Missouri as Associate Vice Chancellor for Development and Alumni Relations and the University of Minnesota as Director of Development for the Institute of Technology and as Director of Development, Alumni and External Relations for the College of Veterinary Medicine. His development career spans almost 30 years with work in higher education, youth agencies and healthcare.

Phil holds a bachelors degree from the University of Wisconsin – Madison and a masters from the University of Oregon. Phil began his professional life as a high school teacher and YMCA camp director. He is a past president of the Minnesota Planned Giving Council and has been a frequent speaker at the Engineering Development Forum, CASE III, IV, and VI, and the Minnesota Planned Giving Conference. His personal interests include music, electric bass guitar, basketball, and hiking.

Phil and his wife, Lorrie, have two grown children, Hilary and Jonathan.
