Global Ireland Football Tournament 2012
Aug. 28 - Sept. 2, 2012

St. Norbert College will play its 2012 season opener in Dublin, Ireland against John Carroll University as part of the Global Ireland Football Tournament (GIFT). The game, scheduled for Aug. 31, 2012, will mark the first NCAA Division III game played in Europe since 1992. The hope is to further promote the sport of football in Ireland and Europe, while providing a memorable lifetime experience for the participants.

This trip will be financed through private funding and no college operating funds will be used.

Overview
Global Football is creating a celebration of American football the first weekend of September 2012, where a very select group of schools will kickoff the football season in Dublin, Ireland! The event will feature 12 teams playing in 6 doubleheaders in 3 different stadiums-Dublin Friday Night Lights. Thousands of amateur players, their coaches, staff, families, alumni and fans can all be a part of GIFT 2012. While the ND vs Navy game will attract 45,000 fans and worldwide media, our games will showcase top teams playing highly competitive games in front of passionate fans. No doubt this will create a memorable lifetime experience for the participants; and you are invited to join them!

Games
A stellar lineup of teams have been invited and accepted the challenge to travel and play in Ireland:
  1. Notre Dame High School (Sherman Oaks, CA) vs. Hamilton High School (Chandler, AZ)
  2. Father Judge (Philadelphia, PA) vs. Notre Dame Prep (Scottsdale, AZ)
  3. Loyola Academy (Chicago, IL) vs. Dallas Jesuit (Dallas, TX)
  4. St. Norbert College vs. John Carroll University (University Heights, OH) (NCAA Division III)
  5. Kent School (Kent, CT) vs. United Kingdom U19 All-Stars
St. Norbert will face John Carroll at 7:30 p.m. GMT (1:30 p.m. CDT) on Friday, August 31 at Donnybrook Stadium in Dublin. Click HERE for ticket information if you are traveling to Ireland through your own arrangements. Tickets are priced at 15 Euro for adults and may be printed at home after purchasing. Admission is free for children aged 12 and under, and a student ticket priced at 10 Euro will be available at the venues on game day.
