DE PERE - St. Norbert College finished 35th in the final standings of the 2010 NCAA Division III Learfield Sports Directors' Cup, which is also sponsored by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics.

The Green Knights registered a total of 401 points during the 2009-10 academic year, their best finish ever and also the best-ever finish for a Midwest Conference school. Points are accumulated in each sport by placing in the NCAA Tournament. Williams (Mass.) College won its 11th consecutive Directors' Cup with 1,292.25 points. A total of 311 Division III schools scored points in this year's Directors' Cup standings.

"Our final point total in the Directors' Cup standings is the result of the hard work of our student-athletes and coaching staff," St. Norbert athletics director Tim Bald said. "St. Norbert College is committed to providing a quality experience for its student-athletes."

St. Norbert's performance this past year marked the fifth time in the past six years it has placed among the top 100 schools nationally. The Green Knights were 77th in 2008-09 with 223.35 points.

Men's ice hockey's runner-up finish in the NCAA Tournament gave the Green Knights a total of 90 points (a national champion in each sport receives 100 points). Women's indoor track and field tallied 56 points. Men's basketball, women's basketball and women's softball each registered 50 points. Women's outdoor track and field totaled 38.5 points, while women's volleyball and women's tennis each had 25 points. Men's indoor track and field added 16.5 points.
