Women's Swimmers Place Seventh at Midwest Conference Meet

APPLETON - The St. Norbert College women's swimming and diving team wrapped up its 2007-08 season with a seventh-place showing at the Midwest Conference Swimming and Diving Championship at Boldt Natatorium on the Lawrence University campus.

The Green Knights finished with 352 points, narrowly edging Carroll for seventh. The Green Knights were just 27 points out of fourth, where Beloit finished with 378 points. Grinnell won the championship with 1,303 points.

St. Norbert fared well in the relay events. The Green Knights placed third in three relays. St. Norbert had a time of 1:46.48 in the 200-yard freestyle relay, a finish of 2:02.89 in the 200 medley relay and a time of 3:53.78 in the 400 freestyle relay.

Stef Klepfer placed fifth in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:05.35. Klepfer added another fifth in the 200 backstroke at 2:19.99, as well as an eighth-place finish in the 400 medley with a time of 5:12.82.

Stacy Hlavach placed sixth in the 100 freestyle with a time of 53.85, and later added a 10th-place showing in the 100 butterfly at 1:10.76.

Meghan Wood finished seventh in the 1,650 freestyle with a time of 19:26.89. Bre Heil was ninth in the 50 free at 26.68 seconds.
