Green Knights Roll Past Ripon to Earn First MWC Win

RIPON - St. Norbert College scored three first-half goals and cruised to a 4-0 Midwest Conference win over Ripon College at Prairie Field.

The Green Knights have won two of their last three matches since an 0-4 start, and are now 2-5 overall and 1-1 in the MWC. Ripon fell to 1-7, 1-2 in the MWC.

Four different players scored their first goal of the year for St. Norbert. Brittany Kosobucki scored unassisted at the 7 minutes 7 seconds mark, and Kellan Zimmer scored unassisted at 26:28. Lauren Heim scored off a feed from Olivia Roff at 41:24 to give St. Norbert a 3-0 halftime lead.

Kayla Pope scored the Green Knights' lone second-half goal at 69:56, with an assist going to Zimmer.

St. Norbert outshot Ripon 23-6. Cara Tazioli made two saves in 80:20 of work, while Dani Schurhammer did not make a stop in 9:40 of relief. Jessica Martzahl made 10 saves between the posts for the Red Hawks.
