Green Knights Stay Unbeaten in MWC North Division With Blanking of Ripon

RIPON - St. Norbert College remained unbeaten in the Midwest Conference North Division women's tennis race with a 9-0 shutout of Ripon College.

The Green Knights, now 4-2 overall and 2-0 in the MWC North, won all but one set contested in the dual.

St. Norbert breezed through the doubles action. Kelly Van Handel and Callie Schroeder topped Josie Ullsperger and Katie Majerowski 8-6 at the No. 1 flight. Maria Slusarek and Laura Michel won at No. 2 over Brooke Deans and Megan Sockness. At No. 3, Stephanie Marek and Jackie Wronkowski beat Alison Thies and Olivia Wetzel 8-4.

Schroeder blanked Majerowski 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3 singles, while Slusarek beat Ellie Hedberg 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2. Van Handel won handily at No. 1 with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Ullsperger.

Ariel Bloniarz beat Elizabeth Ake 3-6, 6-2, 6-2 at No. 4, followed by Reardon's 6-1, 7-6 (9-7) triumph over Brooke Deans at No. 5. Laura Michel won at No. 6 by a 6-1, 6-2 count over Wetzel.
