St. Norbert Tumbles in Five Sets at Grinnell

GRINNELL, Iowa - St. Norbert College had its 21-match regular-season Midwest Conference winning streak end in a five-set loss to Grinnell College at Darby Gym.

The Pioneers (8-9, 2-1 MWC) claimed the win by a 25-13, 16-25, 25-13, 19-25, 15-11 score. St. Norbert fell to 14-5 overall and 1-1 in the MWC.

The decisive fifth set was tied at 10-10 before Grinnell went on a 4-0 run. The Green Knights got a side out to cut the deficit to 14-11 but the Pioneers got a stop to win the match.

St. Norbert hit just .146 for the match, getting 50 kills against 23 errors in 185 attempts. Lauren Meehan had 15 kills, while Danielle Remy had 13 kills and Sarah Sulentic 12. Abby West recorded 31 assists, while Catherine Guido had 34 digs. Sulentic added six blocks.

Grinnell hit .193 with 64 kills and 27 errors in 192 attempts. Bonnie Kircher led the Pioneers with 16 kills, while Olivia Wilks had 52 assists and 20 digs.
