Scherer Extends Winning Streak to Four With Win at Wartburg Pre-Nationals Meet

WAVERLY, Iowa - St. Norbert College senior Jenny Scherer won her fourth meet in as many outings this season to help the Green Knights to a sixth-place team finish at the Wartburg College Dan Huston Pre-Nationals Meet.

St. Norbert totaled 175 points to comfortably finish in sixth place. Wartburg won the event with 65 points, while St. Olaf College was the runner-up with 99 points.

Scherer covered the 6-kilometer course in 21 minutes 56 seconds to remain unbeaten this season. She easily outdistanced Wartburg's Lori Tlach, who finished second with a time of 22:20.

Kelsey Timm finished 40th overall as St. Norbert's next-best finisher, running a time of 24:20. Amanda Whipple finished 41st with a time of 24:21, while Hannah Andrekus was 46th in 24:28. Carrie Trina was close behind with the same time to finish 47th.

Elvia Martinez placed 67th overall in a time of 25:03, while Sara Hasenjager was 73rd with a time of 25:12.
