Green Knights Close Out Regular Season, Trounce Lawrence

APPLETON - St. Norbert College closed out the regular season with its eighth-straight win in a 68-52 win over Lawrence University in a Midwest Conference women's basketball game at Alexander Gym.

The win was the Green Knights' 300th conference win under coach Connie Tilley. St. Norbert is 300-91 in conference play under Tilley, with a 241-87 mark in Midwest Conference action.

St. Norbert (19-4, 15-1 MWC) didn't waste much time in taking command of the game, opening up a 21-2 lead off the hop. Lawrence worked the deficit down to 11 points in the first half before St. Norbert settled on a 39-24 halftime lead.

The Green Knights took a 60-38 lead on a Rachel Hermus basket with 6:54 left, and Lawrence would get no closer than 14 points the rest of the game.

Hermus led St. Norbert with 19 points, making 8 of 12 shots. Morgan Strasser was the only other Green Knight in double figures with 12 points. St. Norbert shot a robust 57.4 percent from the floor, making 27 of 47 shots.

Lawrence was led by Carrie Van Groll's 17 points. The Vikings shot 32.7 percent from the floor, making 17 of 52 attempts.
