DE PERE - St. Norbert College missed out on a golden opportunity to claim the Midwest Conference championship with a three-set loss to Beloit College on Connie Tilley Court at Schuldes Sports Center.

The Green Knights (21-9, 6-3 MWC) needed a win to claim the league title thanks to Lake Forest College losing to Lawrence University earlier in the day. Beloit (17-11, 7-2 MWC) finished in a tie with Monmouth College, but the Scots won the head-to-head meeting so they will win the conference title and host the MWC Tournament next weekend.

St. Norbert never seriously threatened over the course of the match, losing 25-22, 25-14, 25-22. The Green Knights hit just .100, with 29 kills and 18 errors in 110 attempts. Sarah Sulentic led with 10 kills, while Danielle Remy added nine and Mary Kate Manion had seven. Katie Coughlin had 15 digs and Sulentic added three blocks.

Beloit hit .136 for the match, with 31 kills in 118 attempts and 15 errors. Laura Toth had 11 kills, while Caitlin O'Leary had 27 assists. Mary Parker added 17 digs for the Bucs.
