Green Knights Lose Heartbreaker to St. Mary's

GREEN BAY - St. Norbert College suffered its first loss in program history with a 2-1 setback to St. Mary's University in a non-conference game at the Resch Olympic Pavilion in the Cornerstone Community Center.
The Green Knights fell to 1-1 on their opening weekend. St. Mary's improved to 2-0.
St. Mary's grabbed a 1-0 lead at the 13:49 mark of the firs tperiod on a goal by Kara Cole. The Cardinals would hold the lead for the next 41 minutes until St. Norbert's Henriette Ostergaard tied the game with 4:20 left to play off an assist by Emma Agen.
St. Mary's would get the game-winning goal with 1:25 left when Erin Stenseth, the Cardinals' top-line center, scored off assists from Sheree Haslemore and Riley Brown.
St. Norbert couldn't convert on five power-play chances, while the Cardinals were scoreless on four man advantages. St. Norbert held a 26-23 edge in shots.
Mandy Montgomery made 21 saves in goal for St. Norbert, while Kaye Collier made 25 stops for the Cardinals.
