Green Knights Rally to Top St. Benedict

ST. CLOUD, Minn. - St. Norbert College rebounded from a two-goal deficit to post a 3-2 win over the College of St. Benedict in a non-conference game at the Municipal Athletic Center.

The Green Knights finished their three-game excursion at Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference schools with a pair of wins, and are 3-2 overall. St. Benedict dropped to 0-2.

The Blazers took the early lead with a power-play goal by Amie Ernst at the 5 minutes 42 seconds mark of the first period. St. Benedict added to its lead with a score by Ashley Olson 54 seconds into the second period.

St. Norbert wouldn't cut into the deficit until late in the second period. Zoe Kurth buried a power-play marker at 17:09, with Lauren Straus and Alexa Jacobson assisting. Tarraneh Dadgar then scored an unassisted goal at 18:15 to square the game at 2-2.

Karissa Anderson scored her team-high third goal of the year at 1:30 of the third period off an Andrea Senne assist for what would turn into the game-winning goal. The Green Knights made the slim lead hold up despite having to kill three consecutive penalties midway through the third period.

St. Norbert outshot St. Benedict 40-37. The Green Knights were 1-for-5 on the power play, while the Blazers were 1-for-4.

Mandy Montgomery made 35 saves for St. Norbert to earn the win. Kaitlyn Rolando made 37 stops for the Blazers in the loss.
