Green Knights Win Quarterfinal Series

GREEN BAY - St. Norbert College wrapped up a quarterfinal series win in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association Peters Cup Playoffs with a 5-0 win over Lake Forest College at the Cornerstone Community Center.

The Green Knights (22-1-4) advance to a NCHA Semifinal game against the College of St. Scholastica March 1 at the Cornerstone. UW-Eau Claire will travel to UW-Stout in the other semifinal game.

St. Norbert extended its unbeaten streak to 24 games behind Kyle Jones' 22nd career shutout and his seventh of the season. Jones made 12 saves.

The Green Knights scored three times in the first period to take command of the game. Marc Belanger scored a 5-on-3 power-play goal at 8:31, and Tyler Allen followed with a power-play score at 10:08. Brad Herman followed up 1:09 later with his third score of the season.

Allen added a power-play goal in the second period, while Tabisz added the Green Knights' first shorthanded goal of the season in the third period to round out the scoring.

Sleep and Belanger each had two assists in the game for the Green Knights, who outshot Lake Forest 44-12.

St. Norbert was 3-for-9 on the power play, while Lake Forest was 0-for-6. Brandon Kohuch had 39 saves for the Foresters, who end their season 3-23-1.
