Second Period Pushes St. Norbert Past UW-River Falls

GREEN BAY - St. Norbert College scored three second-period goals to lift it to a 3-1 Northern Collegiate Hockey Association win over UW-River Falls at the Cornerstone Community Center.

The Green Knights, ranked third in the USCHO.com NCAA Division III Poll, improved to 6-1 overall and 5-0 in the NCHA. River Falls dropped to 3-4-1, 2-3 and fell to 0-16 all-time against St. Norbert at the Cornerstone Community Center.

River Falls took an early 1-0 lead on a goal 40 seconds into the game by Alec Hagaman. The Falcons would hold that lead through the end of the first period.

Mike Bernardy scored the equalizer for St. Norbert 1:30 into the second period. Brandon Longley snapped the tie at 14:51 of the second period for his team-high seventh goal of the year. Nick Tabisz finished the scoring at 16:57, netting his fourth score of the season. Kyle Stroh and Brandon Hoogenboom each had two assists for St. Norbert.

B.J. O'Brien made 23 save to get the win in net for St. Norbert, which was 0-for-5 on the power play. Scott Lewan made 29 saves for River Falls, which was 0-for-6 on the power play. St. Norbert outshot River Falls 32-24.
