St. Norbert Extends Winning Streak to Eight With Shutout of Lawrence

APPLETON - St. Norbert College pushed its winning streak to eight with a 5-0 win over Lawrence University in the final game of the NCHA/MCHA Thanksgiving Showcase at the Appleton Family Ice Center.

The Green Knights (10-1), ranked third in the USCHO.com Division III Poll, now have their longest winning streak since winning 16 in a row from Feb. 16 to Nov. 21, 2008. Lawrence (6-2) fell to 0-30 all-time against St. Norbert with the loss.

St. Norbert took a 1-0 lead after one period when Seth Soley scored his second goal of the season, going top shelf past Lawrence goaltender Evan Johnson at the 6:55 mark.

The Green Knights broke the game open with a three-goal flurry in the second period. Cody Keefer's power-play redirect at 9:56 gave St. Norbert a 2-0 lead. Kyle Stroh and Zach McDonald gave St. Norbert breathing room with goals at 17:13 and 19:29, respectively. McDonald's goal was his first collegiate marker.

Scott Pulak picked up his second goal in as many nights with a redirected power-play goal with 43 seconds left to close out the scoring.

Brandon Longley had two assists, while Stroh and Soley each had assists to earn multi-point games.

B.J. O'Brien made 31 saves for St. Norbert to earn his second shutout of the season. Johnson made 41 stops for the Vikings.

St. Norbert outshot Lawrence 46-31. The Green Knights were 2-for-5 on the power play, while Lawrence was 0-for-2.
