St. Norbert Loses Late Lead and Draws With Concordia

GREEN BAY - St. Norbert College held a 2-0 lead after two periods but couldn't close out the win and settled for a 2-2 tie with Concordia University Wisconsin in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association game at Resch Olympic Pavilion.
The Green Knights (4-5-1, 1-3-1 NCHA) will tangle with the Falcons (2-6-1, 2-3-1) in the back end of the home-and-home series at 7 p.m. Saturday in Mequon.
St. Norbert led 1-0 after the first period when Alexa Jacobson scored her second goal of the year at 15:54, with Megan Steinmetz assisting. The Green Knights added to their lead when Lauren Straus connected for the fourth time this season at 12:31 of the second period, with Lotta Haarala and Jacobson assisting.
Concordia answered in the third period with goals by Muriel McIntyre at 5:21 and Alisha Java at 15:15.
St. Norbert had a power play late in the third period and another in overtime but couldn't connect for the win.
The Green Knights outshot Concordia 36-30, and both teams were 0-for-5 on the power play. Katie Aluia made 28 saves for the Green Knights, while Lea Jondal made 34 stops for the Falcons.
