Ostergaard, Straus Shine as Green Knights Roll Past Marian

FOND DU LAC - Henriette Ostergaard and Lauren Straus each registered six-point games as St. Norbert College rolled to a 10-0 win over Marian University in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association game at Blue Line Family Ice Center.

The Green Knights snapped a five-game winless streak and and improved to 5-6-1 overall and 2-4-1 in the NCHA. Marian dropped to 0-10-1, 0-8.

Ostergaard pumped in five goals and had one assist. According to available NCAA records, Ostergaard tied a Division III record for goals in a game. Straus finished with one goal and five assists, one helper shy of tying the Division III record for assists in a game.

St. Norbert needed 17 minutes to get on the scoreboard, breaking through on Straus' fifth goal of the year. Ostergaard scored shorthanded at 19:09 of the first for a 2-0 lead.

The Green Knights scored five times in the second period, getting goals from Taylor Giacin, Ostergaard, Karissa Anderson, Tarraneh Dadgar and again from Ostergaard. Giacin's goal was her first collegiate score and also came on the power play, while Anderson's marker was her team-high eighth.

Ostergaard scored St. Norbert's first two goals of the third period to give her a natural hat trick. Ashley Biehl closed out the scoring with a goal with 23 seconds remaining.

Anderson added two assists for three points, and Breanna Kelly had two assists for two points.

Katie Aluia made 19 save for St. Norbert, and extended Marian's scoreless streak to 473:39. Kaytlin Ruzicka made 24 saves in the first two periods for the Sabres, while Jalan Jaskot made 15 saves in the third.

St. Norbert outshot Marian 49-19 in the game, including 22-4 in the second period. The Green Knights were 2-for-4 on the power play while the Sabres were 0-for-4.
