St. Norbert Scores Big Win Over Lake Forest

LAKE FOREST, Ill. - St. Norbert College picked up a quality win in its first game back from the holiday break with a 3-1 win over Lake Forest College in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association game at Alumni Memorial Rink.
The Green Knights improved to 7-6-1 overall and 4-4-1 in the NCHA. The Foresters, who were receiving votes in the USCHO.com Division III Poll, fell to 7-3-1, 3-3-1.
St. Norbert had to kill off three Lake Forest power plays in the first period but managed to hold the game scoreless. The Green Knights answered with a power-play goal early in the second period when Laurel Hill's first goal of the season found the net at the 2 minute 19 seconds mark.
The Green Knights would add to their lead at the 3:21 mark of the third period when Ashley Biehl scored her third goal of the season. Danielle Rozon's empty-net marker with 2:04 left gave the Green Knights an insurmountable 3-0 lead.
Lake Forest scored its only goal when Jenn Caldwell scored with 30 seconds left.
Lake Forest held the shots-on-goal advantage 33-21 but St. Norbert goaltender Kaley Gibson made 32 saves, including 14 in the first period. Lake Forest's Brittany Lemke made 18 saves.
St. Norbert was 1-for-2 on the power play, while Lake Forest was 0-for-4.
