DE PERE - St. Norbert College alumnus Jerimiah Janssen has been selected to D3football.com's All-Decade Team for the 2000s.

Janssen, a 2001 graduate, was one of the 25 players selected on the first team, and was one of three linebackers honored. A total of four teams were selected overall naming the top 100 players who played Division III football from 2000-09.

Janssen, a De Pere native and a West De Pere High School graduate, is one of the most highly decorated athletes in St. Norbert College history. Janssen was named a first-team Associated Press Little All-American selection following his senior season in 2001, and was a second-team Little All-America pick as a junior in 2000. The AP Little All-America Team includes players from NCAA Division II, III and NAIA schools. Janssen is one of only three first-team AP Little All-America selections in St. Norbert history, joining Norm Jarock (1957) and Dave Jauquet (1964).

Following his collegiate career, Janssen - who was 6-foot-3 and 235 pounds while running a 4.7 40-yard dash as a collegian - signed a free-agent contract with the New York Jets and was released during the pre-season.

In both 2000 and 2001 he was a first-team Division III All-America selection by the American Football Coaches Association, Hewlett-Packard, Football Gazette and D3football.com. Twice named the Midwest Conference Defensive Player of the Year, Janssen was a starting linebacker for Team USA in the 2001 Aztec Bowl and led the team with seven tackles in a 37-5 win over Mexico.

In his career, Janssen totaled 322 tackles, including a staggering 66 tackles for loss and 29 quarterback sacks. The Green Knights were 32-10 in his four-year career, including a 27-5 mark in his last three seasons. St. Norbert won three MWC championships and appeared in three NCAA Division III Playoffs (1999, 2000, 2001) during his career.
