St. Norbert Gets By Knox

GALESBURG, Ill. - St. Norbert College rallied from a seven-point first-half deficit by holding Knox College to 25 second-half points en route to a 62-55 Midwest Conference win at Memorial Gym.

The Green Knights, ranked 17th by D3hoops.com, improved to 12-2 overall and 8-1 in the MWC. Knox fell to 4-10, 3-6.

Knox held a 20-13 lead with 9 minutes 28 seconds left in the first half and managed to hold its lead through halftime at 30-27.

The Green Knights opened the second half on a 16-6 run to take a 43-36 lead with 9:05 left following a Jamie Kuhl free throw. St. Norbert led 48-38 with 7:14 left before the Prairie Fire went on a 9-0 run to draw within 48-47 with 4:49 to go. Knox would trail 50-49 with 3:41 left but baskets by Lauren Carman and Rachel Hermus along with the Green Knights going 8-for-8 at the free-throw line down the stretch held off the home team.

St. Norbert 42.9 percent (21-for-49) from the floor. Hermus had a team-high 15 points, while Stefanie Bunday and Erin Baganz added 10 points apiece.

Jenny Haskell had 19 points to lead Knox, which shot 39.6 percent (19-for-48) from the floor.
