St. Norbert Places Third at MWC Indoor Meet

JACKSONVILLE, Ill. - The St. Norbert College men's track and field squad finished in a tie for third place at the Midwest Conference Indoor Championship at Illinois College.

The Green Knights finished deadlocked for third with Carroll with 92.5 points. Monmouth won the event with 237 points, while Illinois College was second with 137 points.

Jeff Pentek won the 5,000-meter run with a time of 15:25.87, the Green Knights lone champion on the men's side. Pentek also paced a 2-3-4 finish for St. Norbert in the 3,000. Pentek had a runner-up time of 8:58.05, followed by Aaron Roden's third-place run of 9:03.82 and Jon O'Brien in fourth at 9:04.69.

Dann Schneider placed third in the 400-meter dash with a time of 49.65 seconds. Schneider added a fifth-place peformance in the triple jump with a leap of 13.11 meters.

Paul Leeman had three top-six places. Leeman was third in the triple jump (13.57 meters), fifth in the high jump (1.86) and sixth in the long jump (6.34).

Alex Albers was third in the 55 hurdles with a time of 8.06 seconds, while Josh Zweiger was right behind in fourth at 8.12 seconds.

St. Norbert's best relay performance was in the distance medley, with the Green Knights placing third with a time of 10:55.52. Alex DeVillers, Tony Grossman, Benji Wetli and Mackenzie Laska ran on the distance medley relay team.
