MONMOUTH, Ill. - St. Norbert College closed the game on a 14-0 run en route to a key 61-56 Midwest Conference win over Monmouth College at Glennie Gym.

The Green Knights moved into a two-game lead in the Midwest Conference at 17-2 overall and 13-1 in the MWC with four games remaining. Monmouth dropped to 11-6, 9-3.

Colleen Forrest's sixth 3-pointer of the game put Monmouth ahead 56-47 with 4 minutes 40 seconds left, but the Scots would not score again as they missed five shots and had four turnovers.

Krista Pelky's conventional three-point play with 3:57 left cut the deficit to 56-50, and Jamie Kuhl's layup 19 seconds later trimmed the defict to 56-52. Following a Monmouth turnover Kuhl hit another layup with 3:02 to go, and after another Scots' miscue Erin Baganz's 3-pointer with 2:30 left put St. Norbert ahead 57-56. Pelky's jumper with 41 seconds left and Krista Hawkinson's basket with 15 seconds remaining salted away the win.

The game featured six ties and seven lead changes. Monmouth held a six-point first half lead before St. Norbert rallied to lead 25-23 at halftime. The Green Knights led 29-23 early in the second half before the Scots went on an 11-0 run to take a 34-29 lead with 14:57 to go.

Pelky led St. Norbert with 15 points, while Baganz added 13 points and Kuhl 12 to go along with nine rebounds. St. Norbert shot 37.5 percent from the floor, making only 21 of 56 shots, but had a 42-27 rebounding edge.

Forrest led Monmouth with 18 points, while Zipporah Williams added 11 points and Justine Boone 10. The Scots shot 40 percent (22-for-55) from the floor but were just 3-for-4 at the free-throw line.
