Relays Fare Well at UW-Whitewater Invitational

WHITEWATER - St. Norbert College picked up a pair of event championships in relay events en route to a fifth-place finish at the UW-Whitewater Warhawk Classic.

The Green Knights totaled 61 points for their fifth-place showing. UW-Oshkosh won the meet with 145 points, while the University of Chicago was second with 128 points. North Central College was third with 103 points and UW-Whitewater was fourth with 99 points.

St. Norbert won the 4x200-meter relay and the distance medley relay, and also placed third in the 4x400-meter relay.

The 4x200 relay of Kari Braatz, Maddy Nelson, Emily Schudrowitz and Megan Domnick finished in a time of 1 minute 48.00 seconds to nip runner-up Whitewater by 0.65 seconds. The distance medley quartet of Erin McShea, Karissa Kaiser, Steph Hietpas and Kelsey Timm claimed the race with a time of 13:23.05, 11 seconds ahead of runner-up Augustana.

The 4-400 relay of Jaclyn Kerner, Calli Nonnemacher, Schudrowitz and Domnick finished in a time of 4:03.45. North Central won that race in a time of 3:59.00.

Amanda Whipple and Timm finished third and fifth, respectively, in the 3,000-meter run. Whipple finished with a time of 10:57.26, and Timm had a time of 11:17.23.

Schudrowitz had St. Norbert's only other top-five individual finish with a third-place showing in the 400-meter dash. Schudrowitz's finished with a time of 58.66 seconds.
