St. Norbert Goes Cold at Grinnell

GRINNELL, Iowa - St. Norbert College shot just 45.1 percent from the floor and ended up dropping a 79-65 decision to Grinnell College in a Midwest Conference game at Darby Gym.

St. Norbert still holds a two-game lead on the rest of the Midwest Conference with three games to play at 12-3 in the league and 16-4 overall. Grinnell improved to 13-6 overall and 8-6 in the MWC.

Grinnell went on a 9-0 run midway through the half and never trailed again. St. Norbert got to within four in the second half twice, the latter at 47-43 with 15:43 left, but would get no closer.

David Wipperfurth led St. Norbert with 18 points. Chris Peterson added 12 points and Rob Durrett 10 points. The Green Knights were just 23-for-51 from the floor and had 28 turnovers against Grinnell's press.

Grinnell was led by 18 points from Griffin Lentsch and 14 points from Dominiqie Bellamy. The Pioneers were 27 of 72 (37.5 percent) from the floor and 12 of 41 (29.3 percent) from beyond the three-point arc.
