St. Norbert Splits Again, Finishes Trip 3-7

KISSIMMEE, Fla. - St. Norbert College split two games for the third straight day with an 11-2 win over the College of St. Benedict and an 8-4 loss to the University of Dubuque.

The Green Knights, who finished their 10-game trip to Florida at 3-7, took an 8-0 lead after three innings against St. Benedict. Jessica Kropp had a two-run double in the first inning. Kristin Zimmerman and Jena Paul each had two-run singles in a four-run second. Zimmerman again had a two-run single in the third. Steph Brunette closed out the scoring with a three-run home run in the sixth.

St. Norbert had 11 hits against the Blazers. Brunette finished 3-for-5 with three runs scored and three RBIs. Zimmerman was 2-for-5 with two runs scored and four RBIs. Kayla Krueger was 2-for-3 with two doubles and two runs scored.

Krueger pitched a complete game, allowing six hits, no earned runs or walks with two strikeouts.

St. Norbert had a 3-0 lead in the first inning against Dubuque but couldn't hold off the Spartans. Krueger had an RBI double and Morgan Buboltz a two-run home run in the first. Paul came around to score on an error in the second inning to tie the game at 4-4 but St. Norbert would not score again.

Zimmerman was 3-for-4 against Dubuque, while Krueger was 2-for-4. Kari Corbeille took the loss, allowing 12 hits and eight runs in six innings.
