Men Open Outdoor Season at Carroll

WAUKESHA - The St. Norbert College men's track and field team got its outdoor season underway with an unscored meet at Carroll University.

The Green Knights claimed three of the top five finishers in the 10,000-meter run. Mackenzie Laska won the event with a time of 33 minutes 0.85 seconds. Alex DeVillers was second in 33:41.56, followed by Brady Bemis in fifth at 36:43.18.

Dann Schneider won the 400-meter dash in a time of 49.81 seconds, while Mike Linzmeier was fourth in 51.81. Matt Reynders was third in the 5,000-meter run in 16:32.70, followed by Linzmeier in fourth in 16:39.97.

In field events, Bryon Betts was fourth in the discus at 135 feet 7 inches. Brent Schreiber was fourth in the long jump at 21 feet 6 1/4 inches. Kenny Oxendorf was fifth in the javelin throw at 128-9.

The 4x100-meter relay of David Mason, Andrew Verfuerth, Mike Verfuerth and David Prosper was third in a time of 45.26 seconds. The 4x400-meter relay of Mason, Mike Verfuerth, Steve Schumacher and Ryan Ascher was fourth in 3:35.26.
