Green Knights Finish Sixth at Ripon Invite

GREEN LAKE - St. Norbert College opened the spring portion of the 2010-11 men's golf schedule with a sixth-place finish among 16 teams at the Ripon College Invitational held on the Links Course at Lawsonia Golf Courses.

The Green Knights fired a 611 for the 36-hole tournament, shooting 306 on the first day and 305 on the second day. Carthage College won the tournament with a 558.

Brandon Gries led St. Norbert with a 72-76-148 to finish in a tie for 14th place. Jacob Hebbard finished in 17th place with a 78-72-150, while Joe Hansen was tied for 27th with a 77-78-155. B.J. O'Brien and Nic Vrubley finished in a tie for 37th. O'Brien carded 81-79-160 and Vrubley was 79-81-160.

The St. Norbert JV squad was ninth with a 650. Shawn Geier led that contingent with a 79-80-159.
