St. Norbert Finishes Fourth at Wisconsin Private School Invite

WAUWATOSA - St. Norbert College finished fourth at the Wisconsin Private College Invitational hosted by Wisconsin Lutheran College at Raabe Stadium.

The Green Knights totaled 100 points to finish fourth. Carroll University won the meet with 167 points, followed by Ripon College in second with 166 points and Carthage College in third with 147.

Mike Verfuerth won three events, claiming titles in the long jump (22-3 1/2), triple jump (43-5 1/4) and 110-meter hurdles (15.65 seconds).

Ryan Ascher was second in the 400-meter dash witha time of 51.86 seconds. Stephen Schumacher placed fourth in the event, running a time of 52.45 seconds.

Bryon Betts was third in the discus with a toss of 139-9, and Brady Bemis also took home a third in the 10,000-meter run in 36:59.16. Matt Reynders was third in the 5,000-meter run in 16:39.27. Anthony Parker was fourth in the 110 hurdles with a time of 17.48 seconds.

Andrew Verfuerth was fifth in the triple jump with a distance of 42-7. James Gilbertson was fifth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 11:08.65. Louis Ayensu-Mensah was fifth in the 100-meter dash in 11.23 seconds.

Additionally, at the Gina Relays at Hillsdale College, Jordan Gobert provisionally qualified for the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championship in the decathlon with a total of 6,131 points.
