Schneider, Gobert Qualify For NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship

DE PERE - St. Norbert College seniors Dann Schneider and Jordan Gobert have qualified for the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championship to be held Thursday through Saturday at Ohio Wesleyan University's Selby Field in Delaware, Ohio.

Gobert is the ninth seeding in the decathlon with 6,389 points. Schneider is the 12th seeding in the long jump with a season-best leap of 23 feet 9 inches.

Gobert is the first St. Norbert decathlete to qualify for the NCAA Championship. His 6,389-point total came late last week at the North Central College Last Chance Meet. The first five events in the decathlon will take place starting at noon CDT Thursday, and the final five events are set for noon CDT Friday.

Schneider's best jump of the year came May 13 at the Midwest Conference Championship. The men's long jump is scheduled for 6 p.m. CDT on Thursday.
