St. Norbert Opens Season With Split of Matches at UW-Whitewater Tournament

WHITEWATER - St. Norbert College opened the 2011 season with a split of a pair of matches at the UW-Whitewater Invitationals. The Green Knights lost their opener to Alma College 25-23, 25-14, 22-25, 25-22 before rebounding to beat Lakeland College 25-12, 26-24, 25-21.

Against Alma, Breanne Brocker posted 10 kills and 15 digs in her first collegiate match. Catherine Guido led the Green Knights' defense with 26 digs. Emily Rohde had 14 assists, and Abby West added 11 assists.

The Green Knights swept Lakeland behind Danielle Remy's 12 kills. Guido had 15 digs, and West had 24 assists and 10 digs.

St. Norbert will face Wheaton College and UW-Whitewater Saturday on the second day of the tournament.
