Green Knights Cruise to Tom Barry Invitational Title

GREEN BAY - St. Norbert College earned the championship of the 37th Annual Tom Barry Invitational with a strong showing at Colburn Park.

The Green Knights had their top five harriers finish in the top 11 to claim the title with 38 points. Runner-up Carroll University was second with 60 points, while Lawrence University was third with 70 points. Lawrence's Sam Stevens won the meet by covering the 4-mile course in 21 minutes 3 seconds.

Carroll's Joe Pliner and Kevin Meyer took second and third, respectively, but after that it was virtually all Green Knights or St. Norbert Alumni in the next 10 spots. St. Norbert's Logan Jadin was its top finisher, placing fourth with a time of 21:34. Hayden Hoffman placed sixth in 21:46, while Mike Linzmeier was seventh in 21:48.

Michael Heise was 10th for the Green Knights with a time of 21:57, followed by Nathan Heppe's 11th-place time of 22:04 to complete the scoring. Brady Bemis was 13th in 22:15 for St. Norbert's other top 20 finish.

St. Norbert's Alumni finished fourth with 73 points. Mackenzie Laska was their top finisher with a fifth-place time of 21:38.
