St. Norbert Falls in Wild Match at Grinnell

GRINNELL, Iowa - A second-half rally by St. Norbert College wasn't enough as the Green Knights fell to Grinnell College 4-3 in a Midwest Conference match at Springer Field.

The Green Knights trailed 2-0 at halftime before rallying late to tie the match at 3-3. But Grinnell's Patty Murphy-Geiss scored the game winner at the 84 minutes 44 seconds mark for the decisive goal.

Grinnell's Abby Jaeger and Rachel Weinstein scored at 6:02 and 7:12, respectively, to give the Pioneers a 2-0 lead.

St. Norbert answered at 49:12 when Katherine Larson scored her seventh goal of the year. Grinnell's Hannah Safter answered at 63:03 to give the Pioneers a 3-1 lead. St. Norbert responded at 66:18 with Kellan Zimmer's second goal of the year. Katie Vanden Avond scored her 13th goal of the seaosn at 78:08 to square the match at 3-3.

Grinnell outshot St. Norbert 14-8 and held a 3-2 edge in corner kicks. Jordan Young made two saves for the Pioneers, while Sarah Platzer made four saves for the Green Knights.
