Green Knights Stay Unbeaten in MWC North

BELOIT - St. Norbert College remained unbeaten in the Midwest Conference North Division with an 8-1 win over Beloit College. The Green Knights also lost a non-conference match to Grinnell College 8-1.

The Green Knights took two of three doubles points to open the Beloit match. Kelly Van Handel and Nancy Chybowski opened with an 8-6 win over Courtney Yates and Maria Mears 8-6 at No. 1 doubles. Callie Schroeder and Maggie Berens topped Ashley Miglin and Lucia Peralta 8-3 at No. 3.

St. Norbert didn't lose a set in singles action. Van Handel won her sixth-straight singles match with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Yates at No. 1. Chybowski topped Mears 6-2, 6-2 at No. 2, while Schroeder beat Taylor Jones 6-3, 6-2 at No. 3. Ariel Bloniarz beat Emma Beck 6-1, 7-5 at No. 4, followed by Anna Reardon's 7-5,6 -2 win over Miglin at No. 5. Maria Slusarek completed the sweep with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Peralta at No. 6.

Against Grinnell, Van Handel won at No. 1 singles for the only St. Norbert point. Van Handel topped Sadhana Athreya 7-6 (7-3), 6-4.
