St. Norbert Takes Over Sole Possession of First Place in MWC

MONMOUTH, Ill. - St. Norbert College moved into sole possession of first place in the Midwest Conference and is the lone unbeaten team in league play after a three-set win over Monmouth College at Glennie Gym. The Green Knights topped the Scots 25-23, 25-15, 25-22.

St. Norbert is now 17-5 overall and 5-0 in the MWC, while Monmouth fell to 8-10 overall and 5-1 in the MWC.

The Green Knights scored three of the last four points scored in the first set to pull away from a 22-22 tie. St. Norbert led by as many as nine points in the second set after jumping out to a 7-1 lead. The Green Knights led 21-20 in the third set but pulled away to close out the match.

Danielle Remy led St. Norbert with 13 kills in 32 attempts, totaling just two errors. Breanne Brocker had 10 kills against two errors in 25 attempts and also had 13 digs. Remy added six blocks. Catherine Guido finished with a match-high 25 digs.

Chelsey Widdop led Monmouth with 12 errors in 39 attempts but also had seven errors. Mollie Murdock had 28 assists, while Megan Creen had 14 digs.
