BELOIT - St. Norbert College picked up its second shutout win of the season with a 3-0 triumph over Beloit College in a Midwest Conference match at the Strong Stadium Complex.
The Green Knights improved to 6-5-1 overall and 3-1-1 in the MWC, while Beloit dropped to 3-6-1, 0-3-1 in league play.
St. Norbert scored twice in the first 14 minutes of the match to grab a 2-0 lead. Erin McQuinn scored her second goal of the year at the 8-minute mark, while Katie Vanden Avond followed with her 14th marker of the season at the 14-minute mark.
The Green Knights would score their third goal at 48:57 when McQuinn scored her second goal of the match and third of the year. All three St. Norbert goals were unassisted.
St. Norbert held a commanding 37-7 edge in shots and an 11-1 differential in corner kicks. Sarah Platzer made four saves for the Green Knights, while Alex Spirov made 12 stops for the Buccaneers.
