DE PERE - St. Norbert College couldn't quite keep up in a high-scoring game as the Green Knights lost 5-3 to Concordia University Wisconsin in a non-conference game on Kolstad Field at Schneider Stadium.

The Green Knights dropped to 6-6-1 on the season, while the Falcons improved to 8-5.

St. Norbert took the early lead when Katie Vanden Avond scored at 19:30 off a pass from Jaci Kulow for a 1-0 edge. The Falcons answered at 28:24 when Hannah Folgate put back a rebound to tie the game at 1-1. The Green Knights missed a chance to take a lead at halftime when Vanden Avond had a penalty kick attempt ring the post just before intermission.

Vanden Avond scored 1:25 into the second half off an assist from Kellan Zimmer when she dribbled through a pack of defenders. The Falcons answered at 49:47 when Hannah Brehmer connected. Vanden Avond then registered her fourth hat trick of the season and her 17th goal of the year when she finished off a perfect Katherine Larson cross with a header at 58:34.

Concordia closed out the match with three straight goals, getting two from Brehmer and another from Kelly Sippel.

St. Norbert outshot Concordia 14-12 but the Falcons had a 6-4 edge in the second half. Sarah Platzer made four saves for the Green Knights, while Sam Anacker made three stops for the Falcons.
