St. Norbert Slips Past Lake Forest

LAKE FOREST, Ill. - St. Norbert College stayed in the hunt in the Midwest Conference race following a thrilling 1-0 win over Lake Forest College at Farwell Field.

The Green Knights, who are 7-6-1 overall and 4-1-1 in the MWC, are tied for first place in the league in points with Grinnell College and Carroll University, but those two teams have a game in hand on St. Norbert. Lake Forest fell to 6-7, 2-3.

St. Norbert scored the lone goal of the match at the 22 minutes 29 seconds mark. Katie Vanden Avond registered her 18th goal of the season off an assist from Brittany Kosobucki.

The Green Knights made that marker stand up, holding the Foresters to just six shots in the match. St. Norbert had 12 shots, and held a 7-2 edge in shots in the first half.

Sarah Platzer made three saves for the Green Knights, while Bri Schleibinger made three stops for the Foresters.
