Vanden Avond Ties Record as Green Knights Top Illinois College

DE PERE - St. Norbert College freshman Katie Vanden Avond scored two goals to tie a school record as the Green Knights rolled to a 4-0 Midwest Conference win over Illinois College at Kolstad Field at Schneider Stadium.

Vanden Avond's two goals gives her 22 for the season, matching Jessica Schadrie's school record set in 2008.

The Green Knights took a 1-0 lead when Olivia Roff scored her first goal of the year when she put home a rebound at the 23 minutes 22 seconds mark. Vanden Avond scored at 36:59 with Addie Buechler assisting. Katherine Larson scored with an assist to Vanden Avond just 51 seconds later to send the Green Knights to a 3-0 halftime lead.

Vanden Avond's goal at 66:36 came off an assist from Stephanie Pedretti.

St. Norbert (8-7-1, 5-1-1 MWC) outshot the Lady Blues 19-2 and held a 4-0 edge in corner kicks. Sarah Platzer made two saves for the Green Knights.
