DE PERE - St. Norbert College had its top two single-season scoring records fall as the Green Knights rolled to an 8-0 Midwest Conference win at Kolstad Field at Schneider Stadium.

Freshman Katie Vanden Avond scored nine points, netting four goals and one assist, to set school records for most goals and points in a season. Vanden Avond's rookie campaign has totaled 26 goals and 58 points through 17 games this season to set new school standards. The previous highs were 22 goals by Jessica Schadrie in 2008 and 50 points by Sara Gross in 2002.

Vanden Avond wasted little time in passing the two marks, getting an unassisted goal just 25 seconds into the match. She later scored at 10:11, and assisted on Katherine Larson's ninth goal of the season at the 17:17 mark. Vanden Avond scored again at 22:59, a goal that gave the Green Knights a 4-0 halftime lead.

Zoe Kurth's bomb from 30 yards out gave St. Norbert a 5-0 lead at 57:28, and Vanden Avond scored off a Kurth helper at 61:59. Olivia Roff scored at 66:35 when she put home a rebound off a saved penalty kick, and Danae Pasch scored at 74:59 for the final score of the game.

St. Norbert (9-7-1, 6-1-1 MWC) held a commanding 36-5 edge in shots. Sarah Platzer made four saves and Molly Schroeder added one stop for the Green Knights. Rachael Koene made eight saves for the Prairie Fire (2-11-1, 0-5-1).
