Green Knights Fall to Bridgewater

HILTON HEAD, S.C. - Bridgewater College defeated the St. Norbert College men's tennis team 7-2 in a non-conference spring break matchup in Hilton Head.

St. Norbert jumped out to a 2-1 lead after doubles action but lost all six singles matches.

Chris Schmitz and Mike Hyrczyk beat Bridgewater's Chris Radke and Colin Saunders 8-6 at No. 2 doubles. Eric Koppmann and Dan Richter followed with a win over Andrew Thornton and Brad DeWitt at No. 3 singles, also by an 8-6 score.

Only one of St. Norbert's singles matches went to three sets. Ryan Kerswill extended DeWitt at No. 4 singles before losing 6-7 (3-7), 6-3, 11-9.

St. Norbert will face Olivet Nazarene University on Wednesday in Hilton Head.
