GREEN BAY - St. Norbert College opened its second season of women's ice hockey with a strong 3-0 win over the College of St. Benedict at the Cornerstone Community Center's Resch Olympic Pavilion.

The Green Knights outshot the Blazers 31-13, and Katie Aluia made all 13 saves for St. Norbert to post the shutout in net.

St. Norbert scored 6 minutes 7 seconds into the game when Jade Popescul registered her first collegiate goal off assists from Zoe Kurth and Tarraneh Dadgar.

The Green Knights made that goal stand up until midway through the third period. Andrea Senne scored at 9:05 of the period when she knocked home a rebound. Katie Conlon picked up her first collegiate goal in the same manner at the 19:38 mark. St. Norbert outshot St. Benedict 13-4 in the third period.

St. Norbert had a strong penalty kill, stopping all three Blazers' power plays. The Green Knights did not convert on their only power-play opportunity of the game.

Jenna Traut made 28 saves for St. Benedict (1-1).
