DE PERE - St. Norbert College advanced to the championship match of the Midwest Conference Women's Soccer Tournament with a resounding 4-1 win over Lawrence University in a semifinal at Kolstad Field at Schneider Stadium.

The Green Knights (11-7-1) will face Carroll University (10-8-1) at noon Saturday in the tournament championship. Carroll defeated Grinnell College 1-0 in the first semifinal on Friday.

The Green Knights extended their lead to 3-1 at 66:09, when Kellan Zimmer fed a ball of the goal line to Kaitlin Schmitz out front for the goal. Vanden Avond then scored her 28th goal of the season at 71:15, playing a ball in from the top of the penalty area into the goal's top shelf.

St. Norbert outshot Lawrence 13-11. Sarah Platzer made six saves for the Green Knights, while Cassandra Burke had three saves for the Vikings.
