St. Norbert Routs Mount Aloysius

TEMPLE TERRACE, Fla. - St. Norbert College extended its winning streak to five games with a 20-2 win over Mount Aloysius College in a non-conference game at Florida College.

St. Norbert jumped out to a 10-0 lead after two innings, including a big nine-run second. Alex Byrne had a two-run single and Tony Jandron added a two-run double in the frame. Mike Wallerich had an RBI singles and Jared Yost an RBI double in the inning, which had six St. Norbert hits.

The Green Knights added two runs in the third and two more in the fourth. In the fourth, Adam Frost led off the inning with a home run, and Cory Fuller later added an RBI double.

St. Norbert continued the onslaught with a four-run seventh, with a two-run single by Jordan Vater the big play in the inning.

Brett Yost worked seven innings to post his second win of the year in as many starts. Yost allowed nine hits, one run, two walks and four strikeouts.

St. Norbert pounded out 21 hits. Jandron was 4-for-4 with four RBIs, while Vater was 3-for-5 with three runs scored and four RBIs. Frost, Byrne, Ryan Gusick, Fuller, Wallerich and Jared Yost all had two hits apiece.
