Green Knights Wrap Up Trip With Close Loss to Shepherd

HILTON HEAD, S.C. - St. Norbert College lost its final match of its annual spring break trip to Hilton Head with a 5-4 setback to NCAA Division II opponent Shepherd University.

The Green Knights got off to a good start in the dual by taking two of three doubles matches. Chris Schmitz and Mike Hyrczyk won at No. 2 doubles with a 9-8 (7-5) win over Felipe Oliveira and Roger Torres. Dan Richter and Eric Koppmann won at No. 3 singles, besting Andy Bosco and Scott Hasenei 8-6.

St. Norbert won at No. 5 and 6 singles. Koppmann beat Bosco 6-2, 6-3 at the No. 5 spot. The Green Knights' Nate Tackaberry beat Hasenei 4-6, 7-5, 10-4 at No. 6 singles in a three-set battle.

The Green Knights (6-10) return to action March 30 with a home dual against Wartburg College.
