Pelky Reaches 1,000 Points as St. Norbert Tops Lake Forest

LAKE FOREST, Ill. - St. Norbert College senior guard Krista Pelky reached 1,000 career points in leading the Green Knights to a 60-44 Midwest Conference win over Lake Forest College at the LFC Sports Center.

The Green Knights (12-3, 10-0 MWC) survived a hellacious bus ride to Lake Forest in a driving snowstorm resulting in the game starting 45 minutes late. Lake Forest dropped to 6-7, 5-4.

Pelky became the 14th player in school history to reach 1,000 caereer points by pumping in a game-high 22 points. Pelky needed just 12 points to reach the plateau. Pelky finished 9-for-13 from the floor and canned 4 of 5 three-point field-goal attempts.

St. Norbert led 29-19 at halftime and continued to pull away in the second half. The Green Knights shot 44.2 percent from the floor, making 23 of 52 field goals. Morgan Heim added eight points and 11 rebounds for St. Norbert, while Jamie Kuhl chipped in with seven points.

Lake Forest shot just 25.4 percent from the floor in making 16 of 63 field-goal attempts. The Foresters, who did not have a player reach double digits in scoring, were 1-for-18 from the beyond the three-point arc. Liz Radtke led Lake Forest with eight points.
