St. Norbert Drops Pair of Matches to WIAC Foes

LA CROSSE - St. Norbert College was swept in a pair of dual matches against Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference opponents this weekend.

The Green Knights (0-6) fell to UW-Eau Claire 9-0 on Friday before losing to UW-La Crosse 7-2 on Saturday morning.

St. Norbert had a pair of close losses in doubles action against the Blugolds. Derek Harrington and Nick Acosta lost 8-6 to Eau Claire's Chris Kuna and Joey Minear at No. 1 doubles. Matt Lobeck and Josh Sweere also fell 8-6, losing to David Stingley and Michael Roden at No. 3 doubles.

The Green Knights picked up a pair of doubles points against La Crosse. Tim Hartwick and Costin Fink beat Dante Pitera and Matt Bulger 9-8 at the No. 2 flight. Lobeck and Sweere followed with an 8-4 win over Vic Mirasola and C.J. Schwind at No. 3.
