Green Knights Earn First Win

GALESBURG, Ill. - St. Norbert College picked up its first win of the 2012 season with a 6-3 non-conference win over Knox College. The Green Knights also dropped a 9-0 decision at Monmouth College on the trip.
St. Norbert had to rally from a 2-1 deficit after doubles play to top the Prairie Fire. Derek Harrington and Nick Acosta picked up St. Norbert's lone doubles win, an 8-6 triumph over Erik Hane and Walter Palmer at the No. 1 flight.
The Green Knights then put the match away with five wins in singles competition. Harrington beat Hane 6-2, 6-3 at No. 1, followed by Tim Hartwick's 6-0, 6-0 win over Karolis Ruzgas at No. 2.
Matt Lobeck topped Jonathan Ng 6-4, 7-5 at No. 3 singles, while Acosta bested Shaun Mulani 6-2, 6-2 at No. 4. Nate Gosz rounded out the wins with a 7-5, 6-4 win over Palmer at No. 6.
