Green Knights Fall on Opening Day in Florida

KISSIMMEE, Fla. - St. Norbert College dropped a pair of games in its first day of play at the Rebel Spring Games. The Green Knights fell to a pair of College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin foes Illinois Wesleyan University 10-2 and Millikin University 5-0.

The Green Knights took an early 2-0 lead against Illinois Wesleyan. Morgan Buboltz and Shannen Schmidt both had RBI singles in the inning. The Titans answered with three runs each in the second and third innings and scored twice in both the fourth and fifth innings.

St. Norbert had five hits, with no one recording a multi-hit game. Schmidt took the loss, allowing 12 hits with one walk and three strikeouts.

The Green Knights had six hits in the nightcap and left seven runners on base to get shutout by Millikin's Lauren Kitterman, who walked two and struck out seven.
